In summer, the days are longer, the weather is warmer, colors are brighter and nature is flowering. It’s a great time to appreciate our relationship to each other and to mother earth. Below is an excerpt about relationship from “Journey to the Heart,” by Melanie Beattie. The book contains a thought for each day, and I found this one inspiring and seasonally appropriate.

See How Each Soul Has Touched You

Often in our lives, we don’t realize the significance of a relationship until later, when the experience has passed. Then we understand how the person helped us along the way, took us to the next part of our journey, opened us up to begin learning the next lesson. And we see how we, in turn, helped shape that person.

One evening, as I was readying for sleep, I had a vision. I saw clearly before me a scenario of the dance we do with each other. I saw in my heart, understood deeply, the tangible, shaping impact each soul had on my life. Each moment, each interaction with another person, had been important – the quiet interactions, the ones I barely noticed, and the more significant relationships. Each moment – the moments that hurt, the moments that brought joy – had helped. We had touched each other. We were joined in an intricate dance, a dance in which our souls learned and grew.

And we had taken our places with each other on time, for the dance was perfectly choreographed.

I could almost see us waving gleefully to each other, happy for how we had connected, joyful that we had helped each other learn the lessons of the soul: courage, love, forgiveness, gentleness, self-love.

See how each soul touches you? See how you touch them?
Ask your heart to guide you with honesty, love and responsibility
in all your encounters. Honor the sacredness of love. Honor the
lessons of planet earth and the people who help you learn them.

This year, June 21st (and the 24 hours before) stood out to me as an exceptional summer solstice, filled with abundance as well as light. I took it as a good omen for the season. I was particularly aware of how much transformation happens before my eyes, and how inspired I am by the people who come into my office in their process of healing. In one day I witnessed courage, willingness, sincerity, sparkle, conviction, enthusiasm, hope and love. These qualities manifested in the way each person dealt with physical and emotional challenges.

One person, who is struggling with a very serious illness, told me about how much she was appreciating her life, her family and the gift of experiencing another spring. Another was able to relax with pain, let go of fear, allow tears, and connect with deep inner peace. A third was following her inner convictions about experiencing how her body symptoms are teaching her about a bigger process of healing in her life. And another was willing to look at patterns of taut and rigid tension in his body and life, and make important changes that reduced his pain in half, and empowered him in his relationship.

These are just a few examples of the remarkable people who come in every day. I’d like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation to all of my clients. Thank you for the way you have shaped my healing and learning over the years.

This workshop will be held at the Moon and Lotus yurt. The yurt is located in a beautiful, forested setting 30 minutes SW of Eugene, near Lorane. There is no better place to practice qigong and experience an abundance of nourishing life energy.

We will learn and practice movement forms from JIN JING GONG – Channels and sinews qigong. Jin Jing Gong is characterized by shaking, walking and movements that stretch and strengthen the muscles, tendons and joints. Much like a moving yoga, Jin Jing Gong opens the body and promotes the healthy circulation of blood and energy, thus bringing proper nourishment and functioning to the internal organs. We will intersperse movement with sitting and standing meditation.

Please RSVP if you plan to attend – 345-2220 or

Friday and Saturday, August 3-4, 2007

Dr. Warner is a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist who practices in Portland, and specializes in EAV food sensitivity testing. She will be in Eugene at the Lincoln St. office on August 3rd and 4th , to test people for foods and environmental substances that their body reacts to. Food and environmental sensitivity testing is an empowering process, leaving you with a direct experience of how specific foods and environmental substances affect you and your health.

The results for people who have been tested and have eliminated these foods from their diet have been very positive.

If you would like more information about the testing process and its benefits, please see the Spring newsletter under “archives” on this website. If you or a member of your family would like to benefit from food and environmental sensitivity testing, please call the office at 345-2220 and we will schedule an appointment for you.
